Cuba Immersion Program: Full 10-Day Itinerary & Activities
Day 1
Arrival in Havana
In this Immersion Experience program, upon arrival at the airport, a private taxi will take you directly to your accommodation. There, you’ll be greeted with a refreshing cocktail and a light snack—the perfect introduction to Cuba’s authentic flavors. You’ll also receive a welcome kit with a city map, practical tips, cultural information, a local magazine, and a special gift. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner featuring traditional Cuban dishes and experience the warmth and vibrant spirit of Havana from the very first night.

Day 2
Historic and Modern Havana
The morning begins with a talk on the city and its geopolitical and historical significance. Afterwards, we will enjoy a guided tour of Old Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you’ll admire its colonial squares, cobblestone streets, and the vibrant life that fills every corner. At midday, we’ll savor a traditional lunch at a local restaurant. The afternoon is reserved for some rest at the house, before ending the day with a nighttime ride in a classic car through the Vedado and Miramar neighborhoods.

Afro-Cuban Religions and Traditions
We begin with a talk on Afro-Cuban religions and their influence on cultural identity and everyday life. Next, we will visit the Callejón de Hamel, a vibrant corner bursting with color and energy, where Afro-Cuban art and culture come alive. After lunch and a short rest, we’ll head to the Christ of Havana, a landmark offering panoramic views of the bay. The day concludes with the Cañonazo Ceremony at the San Carlos Fortress, a spectacular reenactment of colonial tradition.

El Vedado: Havana’s Neighborhood and Contemporary Art
In the morning, we will take part in a talk about the history of El Vedado, followed by a guided tour of the neighborhood, including a visit to the Vedado Museum. After lunch, the afternoon will be dedicated to exploring the Colon Cemetery and its historic architecture. To end the day, we will visit La Fábrica de Arte Cubano, enjoying music, exhibitions, and interactive cultural activities.

day 5
Hemingway on the Island
The day begins with a talk about Hemingway and his life in Cuba. We will then visit La Bodeguita del Medio, one of the most iconic spots associated with the writer. Afterwards, we’ll take an excursion to Cojímar, the fishing village that inspired The Old Man and the Sea, where we will also enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll head to the Eastern Beaches to relax by the sea. The day ends with a homemade dinner to close the evening.

day 6
Contemporary Cuban Art in Havana
We will begin with an introductory talk on Cuban art, serving as a starting point to dive into its history and diversity. Next, we’ll explore the Cuban collection at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, an essential stop to understand the country’s cultural richness. After lunch, we’ll reflect on what we’ve learned and recharge our energy. Later in the afternoon, we’ll meet with a local artist, who will open the doors to their private collection. The evening concludes with a show at the Parisien Cabaret inside the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, accompanied by a dinner that blends gastronomy and entertainment.

day 7
Flavors of Cuba
We begin with a talk on Cuban cuisine, a space to learn about its history, traditions, and family secrets. Later, we’ll visit a local market, where we can shop and discover the island’s fresh products, aromas, and colors. At midday, the experience continues with a hands-on cooking class where we’ll prepare traditional dishes, later enjoyed in a shared lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll learn how to make mojitos, daiquiris, and other iconic drinks. The day ends with a cultural outing to a city theater, where, depending on the program, we’ll enjoy live music, dance performances, or a special concert.

day 8
Art and Rhythm in Havana
In the morning, we will visit Fusterlandia, a colorful community project that blends art, creativity, and neighborhood participation. There, we’ll explore its murals and sculptures, discovering how art can transform an entire neighborhood. The afternoon is filled with energy with a salsa class, where you’ll learn the basic steps and enjoy the Caribbean rhythm in a lively atmosphere. To end the day, the evening brings a live music experience with plenty of dancing and the chance to embrace the festive spirit of the city.

day 9
Nature on the Outskirts of the City
The experience begins with an excursion to Las Terrazas, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and one of Cuba’s most emblematic sustainable development projects. The tour allows you to walk along trails surrounded by tropical forests, refresh yourself in crystal-clear rivers, and admire the local biodiversity. You can also visit the 19th-century coffee plantations, now historic sites, and meet local artisans and artists who keep the community’s cultural traditions alive. In the afternoon, we return to Havana and enjoy a free evening.

DAY 10
Among the Aromas and Flavors of Cuban Rum
No trip to Cuba would be complete without visiting the Museo del Ron, where we’ll learn about the history and production process of this iconic Cuban beverage, and have the opportunity to taste some typical varieties. Later, we’ll enjoy lunch nearby before exploring the San José Market, perfect for shopping for souvenirs and local crafts. After shopping, we’ll return to the house to rest and recharge, and the day will conclude with a farewell dinner, celebrating the experiences shared throughout the Cuban immersion program.

DAY 11
Final Farewell Day and Return Trip
It’s time to conclude this Cuban immersion experience. After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport to begin the journey home, taking with us the memories, lessons, and experiences from two weeks exploring the country’s culture, history, and natural beauty. This is a day to say goodbye, give thanks, and reflect on everything experienced during the stay.
